Functional overview

We are looking for a developer that is highly curious; interested in wider business needs; willing to learn new skills and technologies; and happy to get involved in the wider aspects of the project (not just straight technical development). They need to be comfortable working in a relatively small team; working with overseas businesses and in a high-paced environment. They should demonstrate a proven track record in successfully developing workflow automation and process improvement solutions using a range of technologies, but especially with VBA. Strong capability in VBA is a must. Familiarity other languages and technologies is an advantage. This includes workflow automation tools (e.g. Power Automate); RPA tools (e.g. UIPath), analytics workflow tools (e.g. Alteryx), and custom code (VBA, .NET, HTML5, Javascript, Python); and business intelligence tools (Power Query; Power BI).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5+ years’ of hands-on experience in a similar developer role.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ of hands-on experience with VBA for Excel.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ of hands-on working alongside business analysts in a team to deliver results.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ of interfacing with business units to understand business requirements and design solutions around them.
  • Hands-on experience with automation technologies is an advantage. This includes workflow automation tools (e.g. Power Automate); RPA tools (e.g. UIPath), analytics workflow tools (e.g. Alteryx); and business intelligence tools (Power Query; Power BI).
  • Hands-on experience with other coding languages (.NET, HTML5, Javascript, Python), is an advantage.

Minimum competencies

  • Relevant Qualifications/Certificates in coding or analysis.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken, in order to influence on complex decisions.
  • A team player that is adept at building trusting relationships within the team in order to enlist their participation and support.
