The Purpose Driven Career Objectives of a BD Manager

We are looking for an experienced business development candidate to strengthen our team in the Philippines. This quota-carrying role will focus on developing and expanding our mobility business in the country.

We have set Philippines as a key market and are seeking a BD Manager to secure further business for our demand-responsive transport technology. The position will report to our Philippine Country Head. This role will assist in business development but will also help build and lead a team, if more clients are brought on board.

We have a few ideas on where we could expand, but hope that the candidate can also provide some guidance to help us best fit the local market.

• Manufacturing / Semi-conductors – large employee base (>500) offering transport services as part of their employee benefits
• Industrial parks - shared commuting solutions for multiple tenants or for single large clients
• BPOs and shared-services industry – workforce with shift work patterns, 24x7 operations
• Hospitals, Biomedical & Pharmaceuticals – have to be onsite/field to service customers
• Smart cities - demand-responsive transport to provide augment or potentially replace fixed bus or jeepney routes in an efficient/ green fashion
• New townships/ residential developments - transport systems for both for remote commuting and on-demand transport within the development

To apply for BD Manager, you are excellent at:

  • Helping drive the business in the Philippines to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Leading Business Development with support of Singapore-based BD team and local partners:
    ○ Acquire new clients for the service including both sales and marketing
    efforts
    ○ Localise presentation, training and marketing materials. Work with local
    partners to sustain our social media presence and other marketing
    efforts.
    ○ Support Philippine-wide business development operations on an ad-hoc
    basis
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships with partners, clients, and vehicle
    operators and other stakeholders
    ○ Recruit new partners as needed to facilitate business growth, including
    resellers and bus/jeepney fleet operator partners
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned on a day to day basis
  • Provide regular reporting to SWAT Headquarters 

Your Success Profile includes:

  • Minimum 5 years of sales and BD experience
  • Experience within technology companies, transportation, manufacturing, property developments, and/or logistics highly-desired
  • Independent self-starter – able to function in a new office with a small number of employees and self-driven to adapt to the changes of a start-up environment
  • Proven prospector - able to quickly build and maintain pipeline 
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills; confidence to speak with clients, operators and users and explain the product; not afraid to sell
  • Team player - able to pick up the slack to ensure the smooth running of operations
  • Fast learner and technologically savvy, able to pick up new tools quickly
  • Passionate about customer success
  • Financially savvy for both client proposals and reporting purposes
  • Quickly able to judge when escalations are required, but decisive to solve most issues independently
