Functional Overview

    SWAT Mobility is rapidly expanding its transport technology business in the Philippines and we are seeking an entrepreneurial leader to lead this growth. Through a number of strategic local partnerships such as: Toyota, Avis, local fleet managers and others – as well as direct contacts with major clients and media partners, the Business Head’s goal is to deepen these relationships, manage them to execution and bring on new synergistic partners.The Business Head, Philippines will operate independently with a direct reporting line to the Chief Revenue Officer and dotted-line reporting to the Head of Project Management and Operations, who are both based in Singapore. The person must be able to manage growth in and through a partnership framework, respecting the challenges of the fact that these businesses are theirs and not SWATS. He or she must also be comfortable in generating business for SWAT outside of the partnerships and project managing that business into the partnerships.Desired industry experience: Transport, logistics, software systems sales, senior BPO sales, FMCG distribution. Real world out-of-office practical experience is required; not purely BPO back office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive the business in the Philippines to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships with partners, clients, and vehicle operators and other stakeholders
  • Working with operations partners, ensure SWAT Transportation services run smoothly and exceed client expectations
  • Support partner front-line operations staff to:
  • Conduct partner driver and user training
  • Provide second level service support for drivers and users manage queries in Zen Desk and respond according to service level agreements
  • Provide QA & translation support for applications
  • Work with partners to conduct service dry-runs, testing and ongoing improvement activities
  • Work with Singapore-based BD team and local partners to:
  • Recruit additional companiesfor the service, including supporting both sales and marketing efforts
  • Localise presentation, training and marketing materials. Work with local partners to sustain our social media presence and other marketing efforts.
  • Support Philippines-wide business development operations on an ad-hoc basis
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned on a day to day basis
  • Hire and directly manage Philippines-based staff as steam expands
  • Provide regular reporting to clients and SWAT HQ

Minimum Qualification

  • Minimum 10 years working experience in Sales and Project Management/Operations preferably from the transportation and/or logistics industry
  • Experience in project management and operations
  • Minimum Diploma from local polytechnics or local university
  • Familiar with roads and traffic patterns around Manila

  • Independent self starter – able to function in a new office with a small number of employees and self-driven to adapt to the changes of a start-up environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-buildling skills; confidence to speak with clients, operators and users and explain the product; not afraid to sell
  • Team player - able to pick up the slack to ensure the smooth running of operations
  • Experienced in managing and growing teams
  • Fast learner and technologically savvy, able to pick up new tools quickly
  • Cool-headed and patient, able to maintain professionalism during times of disputes and resolve issues calmly, even when under pressure
  • Able to do shift work and work during odd-hours, to ensure operations are not disrupted during the entire day
  • Ability to manage projects, prioritise, and act VERY hands on. This is relevant both on the operation side and on the customer-facing aspects.
