As a Home Health Medical Coder (Team Leader), you will be working in a Home Health setting along with other dedicated, sharp, enthusiastic, professionals that are committed to delivering outstanding customer service for all our internal and external patients. The main responsibilities of a HOME HEALTH MEDICAL CODER (TEAM LEADER) include:

• Managing day-to-day production of the coders
• Ensuring that the coders are reaching their daily targets and in turn reaching their monthly targets without deviation
• Performing periodic audits on coders and providing timely feedback on their errors
• Managing the quality performance of the coders to meet and exceed 97% on daily basis (at the coder level)
• Providing education/re-education on client guidelines and periodic updates on location-specific guidelines
• Managing attendance and attrition of the team and keeping them under an acceptable threshold
• Coordinate with IT and other support teams as warranted to resolve any issues faced by the coders
• Reporting on Coders’ performance (productivity and quality) and arriving at a relevant action plan in case coders’, not meet expected standards

To apply for the role, you must have the following:

• Graduate in any life sciences with sound knowledge/understanding of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Coding principles.
• Minimum 4 – 5 years of experience in hand-on coding with Home Health (Level 1 and 2 at least) with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of Team handling exposure
• Any certifications from AAPC/AHIMA or relevant home health certification (i.e. BCHHC)
• Good knowledge in understanding the nuances of client-specific guidelines
