Functional overview

Overall Responsibilities: Analyze, design, and build learning experiences aligned with the skills and objectives of Uber, rooted in Adult Learning Principles and Instructional Design Strategies and Methodologies.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design and Develop Learning Experiences: Design and develop engaging and effective learning materials and experiences. Primarily creating digital learning courses (self-paced courses) and microlearning courses. The designer must be able to apply instructional design theories and practices, such as ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) or SAM (Successive Approximation Model), to ensure learning efficiency.
  • Maintain and Update Training Materials: Responsible for maintaining and updating training materials as needed. It could be due to changes in company policies, technological advancements, or new industry regulations and standards.
  • Project Management: Manage learning projects from start to finish. It includes coordinating with stakeholders, managing resources, meeting deadlines, and maintaining the quality of the instructional materials.

Minimum competencies

  1. Proficiency in Instructional Design Models: Familiarity with standard instructional design models like ADDIE, SAM, or Bloom's Taxonomy.
  2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Canva, Google Slides, and graphic design software - Adobe Creative Suite.
  3. Project Management Skills: The ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively with various stakeholders.
  4. Analytical Skills: Analyze the data, information, or results, and use them to create the best learning solution. 
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, subject matter experts, etc.
  6. Creativity: Ability to create engaging, innovative, and effective learning materials that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  7. Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles: Understanding how adults learn and applying these principles in designing learning materials.

Minimum qualifications

Skills and Experience (Non-Negotiable)

Experience: 2+ years L&D experience and has previous Instructional Design experience ; standards
Education: College graduate of any course
Language Requirement: Proficient and excellent English communication skills both verbal and writing
Content Writing: Intermediate to advance writing skills (concise and structured)
Design Experience: Has experience in designing and deployment of microlearning, and other instructional design strategies (gamification, social learning, etc.)
Tools: Articulate Storyline, Google Suite, Canva
Other Skills: Project management skills, negotiation skills, presentation skills (can present ideas - logic)
