The L&D Specialist will supports L&D COE, (Hotel, Marine Operations Training, and Academe Development) to design and deliver learning and development programs and initiatives.


  • Provides support for effective training design and delivery of hotel and marine training. This includes but is not limited to professional development, management, compliance programs. Conducts needs assessment, develops presentations, charts, curriculums, project and/or learning plans, instructor and participant materials, logistics, and post-training assessment aligned with company guidelines and principles. Coordinates with L&D management in consolidating plans and programs to support the objectives of the department.
  • Supports Academe Manager in developing and maintaining relationships with academe partners globally. Liaises with academia to design curriculum, operationalize new programs as directed. Plans and organizes visits to academic institutions for self or for visiting CCL leadership. Facilitates presentations to students and faculty as needed. Organizes learning events at schools in partnership with Talent Acquisition and COE.
  • Consults with the business in assessing, scoping, and recommending learning solutions aligned with company leadership competencies to meet business objectives.
  • Conducts annual training and development needs for CASI. Evaluates training effectiveness, makes recommendations, and applies feedback to ensure maximum impact to the business.
  • Creates, organizes, and presents various onboarding, orientation, and skills training as needed, locally (in person) or virtually.
  • Manages vendor relations. Participate in identifying, selecting and evaluating vendors to deliver trainings and performance solutions.
  • Uses the company LMS to load courses, communicate with participants, track and report registration, attendance, and content quality. Acts as the training contact to answer questions and resolve issues for the business.
  • Handles special projects within the team as needed. Performs other job related functions as assigned.      


  • Bachelors Degree in Training & Development, Business Administration, Human Resources Development, Psychology or related field is required.
  • 3 years in Academia or Human Resources
  • Knowledge of conducting training virtually with online collaboration tools.  Use of Authoring tool is preferred. Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Experience working with an LMS is preferred.  Ability to work with hardware used in training (e.g., laptops, projectors, screens, printers).
