A. OBJECTIVE
The primary role of the Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) Technician 1 is to monitor,
troubleshoot and maintain the company’s network, This includes the companies networking equipment,
servers, and managed detection and response systems. Escalating to senior staff or partners for more
complex issues after initial triage and information gathering.
Job duties may be added or taken away due to operational / business needs and requirements.
B. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Monitor network hardware to ensure the proper operations of routers, switches, firewalls, and remote
technologies.
• Monitor Cyber Security related dashboards and tickets working with our Managed Detection and
Response team to resolve incidents.
• Field incoming calls, Help client troubleshoot networking issues, diagnose network and server
problems and provide resolution.
• Oversee the preventative maintenance of networking equipment. May repair switches, routers,
configure new servers, run tests, and perform upgrades to hardware and software to ensure network
runs with no interruption due to failures or outages.
• Monitor Cyber Security related dashboards and tickets working with our Managed Detection and
Response team to resolve incidents.
• Document all incoming calls and record the technical issues addressed in each call. Maintain logs of
resolutions, communicate with vendors about ongoing problems, use ticketing system to update
information regarding progress.
• Other duties and assignments as required.
C. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Education and Industry Knowledge
• Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or any other related discipline
• Certification such as Network + preferred
• Minimum 1-year related experience
Technical Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Experience with any on the below is desired
• HPE Arubu or similar enterprise networking equipment.
• Watchguard or similar next-generation firewalls
• Carbon Black threat detection or similar modern endpoint protection systems.
• SolarWinds suite of network monitoring tools
• AWS EC2 and VPC networking components
• AWS Cloud Watch
• VMware Networking
