PHP DEVELOPER (WORDPRESS SPECIALIST)

This role will work closely with the UX, Creative, User Interface Development, and Backend Development teams to deliver industry-leading technology.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Collaborate with various teams on solution design and technical specifications
• Plan project tasks in the sprint based on story while working towards a quality deliverable, adhering to overall project scope
• Work closely with other development team members to design and build quality solutions
• Ensure integrity of the development is maintained throughout the entire project lifecycle
• Participate in scoping activities related to technical components and provide estimates

THE ESSENTIALS

To be considered for this position, you have:

• Experience with Wordpress CMS software development from scratch (without UI plugins and themes)
• Successfully built large scale responsive web applications in PHP
• Strong experience in responsive website development using the LAMP model (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
• Recent experience in working with JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, CSS and HTML
• Worked in a similar position for a minimum of 3 years
• Strong understanding of Git
• Exceptional attention to quality and have the ability to think outside of the box
• Digital agency experience is desirable but not mandatory

In addition, experience with two or more of the following would be highly regarded:

• Experience writing custom Wordpress plugins
• Building REST APIs
• Working with up CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins etc.
• Decoupled/Headless Architecture
• Open source contributions
• Modern Javascript libraries – React, Angular etc
• Docker
• Experience with Composer
• Unit Testing with PHPUnit
