The Purpose Driven Career Objectives of a Senior Software Tester/QA

  • The Manila branch office of our client is looking for a software tester who will check for bugs or other user concerns in the software.
  • They will evaluate a program by going through its typical uses and citing any problems that may arise.
  • They should be willing to learn or enhance their knowledge in UNIX for running existing scripts and potentially modifying or creating new scripts.
  • Openness to use Mac OS is a must.

  • Analyze and Review software requirements
  • Log defects in JIRA
  • Initiate coordination with the internal Coral Active team & needed personnel
  • Organize the Coral Active Test Suite
  • Enhancement of regression test cases
  • Send out status reports during test execution phase
  • Review requirements and log queries in the consolidated tracker
  • Creation of test estimates as needed
  • Suggest test scenarios during planning
  • Creation of test cases
  • Execution of tests
  • Create wiki documents related to testing
  • Attend a minimum of 80% of stand-up meetings
  • Senior - Mentor junior testers
  • Senior - Knowledge transfer or conduct training sessions as needed
  • Senior - Suggest testing process improvements, etc.
  • Senior - Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the testing process

Your Success Profile includes:

Required:

  • At least 5-year working experience as a software tester
  • Has Javascript and UNIX scripting/coding experience
  • Understands business requirements and can think critically
  • Passionate about finding as many bugs as they can and can provide detailed evidence of the bug
  • Has backend (logs/DB) investigation experience
  • Must be able to work with minimal or no supervision
  • Goal-oriented and always ready for challenges
  • Ability to analyze requirement specifications and write test cases and test reports
  • Experience in website testing
  • Ability to analyze defects - understand when a defect is in the test script and when it is in the software
  • Ability to write clear defect reports
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with the Product and Development team
  • Proficient in speaking and writing in English

Advantageous:

  • Experience in both manual and automation testing work.
  • API Testing experience
  • ISTQB Certification is a great plus
  • Experience using VS Code, Javascript, Typescript, and Playwright
  • Experience in using Postman or any API testing tools
  • Working in a UNIX command line to run and change test scripts
  • Softphone or experience in call center user interfaces
  • Experience working in a UNIX/Linux/OSX environment
  • Ability to write scripts (of 30+ lines) in UNIX
  • Experience using Mac OS
  • Experience working in an Agile environment /methodology
  • Experience using JIRA and WIKI for documentation
  • Experience creating process improvement
  • Genesys experience is a big plus but not required

Working hours

  • Philippine hours - Monday to Friday: 7 am – 4 pm (with Flexi-day set up)
  • Flexible schedule - core hours are 9 AM - 2 PM daily Philippine time. You can come in as early as 5 AM and the latest end of the shift is at 7 PM

Benefits

  • HMO for staff and eligible dependents upon hiring;

  • Work-from-home setup (remote work)
    • Company provided laptop (MacBook), tables/chairs, headsets, 2nd monitor, an external Mac keyboard, and a magic mouse
    • Internet connection budget of Php 2500/month
    • One-time budget of Php 10000 for tables and/or chair
    • 2 connections are required, 1 as backup (BCP or Business Continuity Plan)
    • Use of nearby KMC office as needed (Business Continuity Plan)
    • Occasional meetings in the office may be required
  • Initial 15 Leaves (prorated, sick leave, and vacation leave) and additional 10 leaves after one year (25 total after one year)
    • Paid Christmas shutdown for 1-2 weeks (depends on dates/schedule/client)
  • To observe Australian (Melbourne) holidays, or US Holidays depending on the assigned client
    • Paid Philippine holidays less the Australian/US holidays (swap)
  • Government-mandated benefits (SSS, Pagibig, Philhealth, 13-month pay)
  • Annual training upon regularization (upon management's approval)
