The Opportunity:

 

ECI has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Services Engineer, who will act as a Dedicated Engineer. The ideal candidate will handle support activities for multiple technologies hosted by our client. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring best practices are in place for such technologies and acting on them to implement fixes, maintenance, and support tasks.

 

The Systems Services Engineer will also develop remote support/process knowledge experience and will get exposure to cross team/cross region collaboration. The individual will help to improve procedures, monitoring, and will work on process automation tasks / scripts. This individual will have a strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn and share knowledge.

 

This is a Hybrid role.

 

What you will do:

 

Day-to-day tasks and responsibilities to include:

• Performing volume/bucket create/expand/delete/permissioning operations on all platforms.

• Upgrading device firmware and OS in a non-disruptive manner.

• Troubleshooting backup failures.

• Troubleshooting performance issues across all storage types.

• Assisting with data migrations between storage environments.

• Performing routine BCP tests involving storage failovers between datacenters.

• Provisioning new storage hardware, liaising with vendors and the EP datacenter team.

• Troubleshooting and resolving common hardware faults such as loose cables, PSU and disk failures.

• Raising support tickets with vendors and providing them with support bundles, logs, etc., for analysis as required.

• Restoring data from backups (BM/VM/NAS).

• Performing synthetic restore tests on a regular basis to meet compliance/audit requirements.

• Managing backup SLAs for servers and handling registration and decommission of servers from the backup environment.

• Presenting iSCSI SAN storage to Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers using multipath and CHAP.

• Understanding Linux LVM and Windows Storage Spaces.

 

Who you are:

• 5+ years of experience with O365, Exchange, Active Directory, Windows, Servers.

• 5+ years of experience with Storage technologies (Pure, Netapp).

• 5+ years of experience in AWS S3.

• 4+ years of experience with Rubrik and AWS Backup.

• Experience in troubleshooting, configuration Windows Server & Linux.

• Basic to medium understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching and Firewalls.

• Understanding of network / servers and Virtual Machine performance issues.

• Knowledge of Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix, Vmware systems are a plus.

 

Bonus points if you have certifications in:

 

• Pure Storage

• NetApp

• AWS S3

• Rubrik and AWS Backup
